Founded:

1867 by The Rev. David Faure of the Dutch Reformed Church, who had absorbed liberal views while studying for the ministry in the Netherlands.

On returning to South Africa, he was rejected and established an independent congregation. After his retirement, the congregation was served by a succession of ministers from Britain and the U.S.

Congregations: 1 congregation in Cape Town, 3 fellowships in Johannesburg, Durban, and Somerset West.
