ANZUA was formed in 1974 to promote fellowship and communication between Unitarian and other liberal groups. Congregations in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney, Australia, were founded in the 1850s by Unitarians who emigrated from Britain. The Auckland Congregation was founded in 1898 but Unitarian services had been held in NZ as early as 1863. By 1901 there were 468 people recorded as Unitarians. |
